He 111 serial number 5172 emergency landed near Silkeborg 7/8 1941.


The aircraft belonged to 3./ Küstenfliegergruppe 506 and was coded ?
T/o ? Op: Heimat flug.


The aircraft made an emergency landing at 14:20 hours as its engines stopped. It passed underneath some electrical wires and belly landed in a field belonging to Vinding Nygård farm, Vinding east of Bryrup.

It came to a sudden halt when it hit a dyke. The engines broke off during the landing and the aircraft was 45% damaged.
Of the crew of 6 only Flt. Engr. Unteroffizier Aal broke his leg and was hospitalized until 15/8. The rest of the crew were unharmed.
