He 115 serial number 1881 crashed near Fliegerhorst Aalborg See 20/8 1941.


The aircraft belonged to 1./ Küstenfliegergruppe 706 and was coded ?
T/o Aalborg See Op: Feindflug.


The He 115 crashed during take off due to engine failure. It had reached about 50 metres of altitude when it lost speed and crashed in the Limfjorden in position 57`03`28`N 09`52`19`E and sank.

It was 100% loss, and for some reason the Germans did not recover the aircraft.
The crew were unharmed and was rescued.

The wreck was recovered in the winter of 1949/50 by Diver Karl Hansen of Nørresundby and scrapped.
