Do 217E-4 serial number 5351 crashed in the North Sea 18/7 1942.


The aircraft belonged to III./ KG 2 and was coded U5+DV
T/o Arnhem -Deelen Op: Feindflug.


The aircraft crashed in the North Sea with the loss of the whole crew.
Pilot Unteroffizier Otto Boor, Navigator Oberleutnant Otto Waldmann and Wop Unteroffizier Sepp Oberleitner have no known graves while Engineer Unteroffizier Johann Chmela was found washed ashore on the island of Fanø.
He was laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery in Esbjerg on 22/9 1942.

The Do 217 was a 100% loss.
