FW 190A-2 serial number 5496 crashed near Ulstrup 30/8 1942.


The aircraft belonged to 12./JG 5 and was coded 10.
T/o Værkøse. Op: Transfer flight.


The Fw 190 was on a transfer flight from Fliegerplatz Værløse to Fliegerplats Aalborg when it hit a windmill at Ulstrup shortly before 21:00 hours.
It crashed in a field belonging to Farmer Jens Nielsen and exploded killing Pilot Leutnant Heinz Eduard Löffler.
The FW 190 was a 100% loss.

The body was collected by Batterie Seelandsodde who also guarded the wreck.

Löffler was laid to rest in København Vestre cemetery.
