Ar 96B-3 serial number 4490 crashed in Lyby Bay 7/10 1942.


The aircraft belonged to Jagdgruppe Drontheim (Jagdfl. Schule 3) and was coded ?
T/o Grove. Op: Training.


The Ar 96 crashed into Lyby Bay 6 kilometres north of Skive at 11:20 hours believed due to pilot error and was a 100% loss.
It crashed about 5-600 metres off shore and Student pilot Unteroffizier Walter Bartstuber was injured and was admitted to the hospital in Skive.
