BV 138 serial number 067 emergency landed in the North Sea 30/10 1942.


The aircraft belonged to 1./ Küstenfliegergruppe 706 and was coded K6+IK
T/o Stavanger. Op: Feindflug.


The aircraft made an emergency landing in the North Sea following an engine failure The aircraft was a 100% loss and two crew members died.

Wop Unteroffizier Gerhard Fils and Engineer Oberfeldwebel August Kruse are both reported dead but it is not known where Filz rest.

August Kruse was laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery in Esbjerg on 18/12 1942.
