Ar 196A-3 serial number 0239 crashed near Hjeds 19/11
1942.
The aircraft belonged to 1./ Küstenfliegergruppe 706 and was coded ?
T/o Aalborg ? Op: Feindflug.
The Ar 196 crashed in a field near Hjeds belonging to Farmer Anders Thomsen at
10:15 hours becoming a 100% loss.
The aircraft was found with its front dug into the ground and the two crew
members still inside the cockpit.
Pilot Unteroffizier Franz Fuchs and Navigator Unteroffizier Walter Buchholz were
both death and were laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 21/11 1942.
