BV 138B serial number 02017 crashed in the Øresund 11/2 1943.


The aircraft belonged to Fl.Erg.St.(See) Kopenhagen and was coded 6H+MH.
T/o Øresund. Op: Practising catapulted take off.


The BV 138 was practising catapult assisted take off when it crashed into the sea due to the control locks not having removed.

The crew of five died and the BV 138 was a 100% loss.

Pilot Feldwebel Josef Röhren and Wop Gefreiter Kurt Motzner, Engineer Unteroffizier Alfred Pruscheck and Engineer Feldwebel Karl Dos were all laid to rest i København Bispebjerg cemetery. In March 1944 their remains were moved to København Vestre cemetery where they rest today.
The body of Pilot Unteroffizier Oswald Kriwan has never been found.
