Ju 88A-4 serial number 1036 crashed at Store Vildmosen moor 23/3-1943.


The aircraft belonged to 13./ KG 30 and was coded 4D+AX.
T/o Aalborg West. Op: Training.


On the morning of 23/3 the JU 88 crashed in Store Vildmosen moor near the road between Nørre Halne and Luneborg approximately 8 kilometres south of Brønderslev killing the crew of four.

The Ju 88 was a 100% loss.
The aircraft burst into flames on impact and set fire to the moor.

The remains of Pilot Obergefreiter Hans Jürgen Mieschel, Navigator Gefreiter Paul Stehle, Wop Unteroffizier Hans-Günther Verse and Air gunner Obergefreiter Ernst Demski were retrieved from the wreck and were laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 27/3 1943.
