Ar 196A-3 serial number 1010 crashed near København 28/6 1943.


The aircraft belonged to 1.Erg. Kü. Nahaufkl. u. Bordfl. St. and was coded ?
T/o København-See. Op: Training.


At 16:22 hours the Ar 196 crashed into the Øresund near Mellemfortet off København following a collision with a BV 138 of Flg. Erg. Gruppe Kamp during air combat training and was a 100% loss.

The Ar 196 sank and Pilot Unteroffizier Walter Speidel was killed but it is not known where he rest.
