JU 88C-6 serial number 360425 crashed near Fliegerhorst Grove 30/9 1943.


The aircraft belonged to 12./ NJG 3 and was coded D5+FX.
T/o Grove. Op: Calibration flight for radar.


The JU 88 was down low and hit some trees in Guldborgland Plantation when it was on the final turn for landing.

It crashed to the ground and a fire erupted and engulfed the wreckage that was a 100% loss.

Pilot Unteroffizier Alfons Kirmer, Wop Unteroffizier Franz Rotter and Engineer Gefreiter Jacob Asam all died and were laid to rest in Lemvig cemetery on 5/10 1943 without ecclesiastical assistance.
