FW 190A-3 serial number 12487 crashed near Vojens 9/10 1943.


The aircraft belonged to 1./ JG 11 and was coded + White 12.
T/o Husum ? Op: Feindflug.


Leutnant Harry Pelzer attacked a formation of American bomber from the rear and was hit by return fire. He crashed in a field belonging to Farmer Jes Lassen of Bækskov 5 kilometres northwest of Vojens at 15:25 hours.

The Fw 190 was a 100% loss and Pelzer died. He now rest in Berlin-Neuk.-Landeseigener Friedhof in Germany.

The Wehrmacht is reported to have removed the wreckage on 12/10 but the site was kept restricted by Danish police until it could be checked by a Danish explosives expert. On 14/10 the site was released.
