Bf 109G-6 serial number 20450 belly landed at Rindum 21/10 1943.

The aircraft belonged to I./ JG 5 and was coded Weisse 3.
T/o ? Op: Aircraft transfer.

On a transfer flight pilot Oberfeldwebel Max Schinzel lost orientation due to bad weather and after having circled Rindum a couple of times he belly landed the aircraft at 17:45 hours.

During the landing the 11 year old Danish boy Erling Lillevang was hit by a wing and ended up in a ditch with a broken leg and concussion.

Also Schinzel was injured by the landing and they were both taken to the hospital in Ringkøbing for treatment where they were bedded in the same room.

The aircraft was 15% damaged and on 23/10 it was dismantled and removed by the Luftwaffe.
