Do 217 E-4 crashed into the North Sea 11/3 1943


The Do 217 belonged to 6./KG 40 and was coded F8+KP
T/o:  Soesterberg   Op:  Attack on Newcastle


The Do 217 was attacked and shot down by a Beaufighter with the loss of all onboard. The Do 217 was a 100% loss.


Flugzeugführer Uffz Erich Schild, Kampfbeobachter Uffz Werner Beihofer, Bordschütze Uffz Herbert Nentwich and do not have known graves.

Bordfunker Uffz Eduard Bawey was found washed ashore on the beach near Løkken on 25/6-1943 and was laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 2/7-1943.
