Ju 88A-4 serial number 2071 emergency landed at Lillevorde Mark 17/5 1944.


The aircraft belonged to 10./ KG 30 and was coded 4D+DU.
T/o Aalborg West. Op: Training.


The JU 88 was attacked by Mustang fighters at noon and belly landed in a field belonging to Marius Bælum of Lillevorde Mark. The aircraft skidded along and hit a dyke and overturned and broke in two.

Pilot Gefreiter Eduard Winkler and Wop Gefreiter Erich Messmer were both severely wounded and taken to the Luftwaffe Orts Lazarett Aalborg for treatment.
It is known that one of them suffered from fracture of the skull.

Navigator Obergefreiter Hans Müller and Gunner Gefreiter Franz Kaim both died and were laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 24/5 1944.
