The aircraft belonged to Stab IV / NJG 3 and was coded D5+FF.
T/o Westerland ?. Op: Operational flight.

The Bf 110 was on a operational flight when a engine fire erupted violently and forced the crew of three to bail out. The aircraft crashed just south of Tiset three kilometres southwest of Gram at 01:20 hours.

Pilot Hauptmann Franz Buschmann, and Feldwebel Josef Geiger landed safely nearby.

A search was mounted for Oberfeldwebel Werner Schuldt and at 02:55 hours it was reported that he had been found death. Apparently his parachute had malfunctioned. He was laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery in Esbjerg on 2/6 1944.
