Bf 109G-6 werk nummer 144 crashed into a field near Sdr. Tranders 22/8-1944.

The aircraft belonged to 1./JG 102 and was coded ?
T/O: Fliegerhorst Aalborg Ost  OP: Training

The Bf 109 crashed into a cabbage field belonging to Gardener Nørgaard at 11:47 hours. Student pilot Fähnrich Siegfried Ziege apparently bailed out, but at too low altitude, and he was found laying death in the field. His body was brought to the Luftwaffe Lazarett in Aalborg, from where it was taken to Frederikshavn cemetery. He was laid to rest on 31/8-44 at 11:00 hours.
