Bf 110C-2 serial number 2815 ditched in the sea of Skagerak 9/6 1941.


The aircraft belonged to 2. /Erg. Zerst. Gruppe 26 and was coded ?
T/o Aalborg Ost ? Op: Training.


The Bf 110 ditched into the Skagerak four kilometres NW of Blokhus and was a 100% loss.

A He 59 of Seenot Aalborg was scrambled along with Vp.boot 903 and 909 and the Danish life boat of Blokhus. The He 59 picked the pilot up while the dead Wop Gefreiter Fritz Kirchner was retrieved from the sea by the life boat.

Flitz Kirchner was laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 12/6 1941.
