Bf 110C-2 serial number 3097 crashed in the Aalborg Bay 13/10 1941.

The aircraft belonged to IV. / ZG 26 and was coded ?
T/o Aalborg Ost. Op: Gunnery training.

The Bf 110 was ditched on the bay 5-6 kilometres east of Dokkedal during gunnery training and was a 100% loss.

Fisherman Carl Zaar and Fisherman Marius Rimmen onboard fishing vessel A 50 “Gedion” of Aalborg was trawling in the area when they saw the aircraft ditch about 1000 metres away and cut their trawls to sail to the rescue of the flyers.
They reached the aircraft just when it was sinking and took the two flyers one of whom was unconscious onboard and set course for Hals where they arrived at the harbour at 17:30 hours.
