He 114B serial number 2289 washed ashore on the island of
Bornholm 19/10 1941.
The aircraft belonged to Grosse Kampffliegerschule 5and was coded TV+HX.
T/o Parow Op: Training.
The aircraft and its crew were reported to have been lost on 17/10.
On 19/10 the wreckage was found washed ashore at Stenodde on the island of
Bornholm.
It was found 25-20 metres off the beach in ¾ metres of water. The
wreckage was recovered by Seenotzentrale Bug and Fliegerhorst Parow.
The crew of Pilot Erich Mahling and Wop Freiherr Hans Drostler have no known
graves.
