Ju 88A-4 serial number 8222 crashed near Fliegerplatz Esbjerg 28/8 1942.


The aircraft belonged to 12./ KG 26 and was coded ?
T/o Esbjerg. Op: Training.


The Ju 88 crashed near Hedelundgaard farm some 1500 metres south east of Fliegerplatz Esbjerg at approximately 23:00 hours and caught fire.

The aircraft was 100% loss and the crew of Pilot Obergefreiter Ernst Jurcsa, Navigator Obergefreiter Walter Scheyrer, Wop Gefreiter Hans-Joachim Linke and Air gunner Gefreiter Walter Bischof all died.

They were laid to rest in Esbjerg Fovrfelt cemetery on 2/9 1942.

After the war the remains of Ernst Jurcsa were disinterred and brought home to Austria.
